Sensory Sprinkles
Gentle baking experiences designed for neurodivergent learners
Sensory Sprinkles is an adaptive baking program created to support elementary students in ESE classrooms, including students with autism, Down syndrome, and other neurodivergent needs. Using calm, sensory-informed cookie activities, the program provides structured opportunities for regulation, choice, and confidence-building in a predictable and supportive environment.
This isn’t about performance or perfection.
It’s about comfort, engagement, and belonging.
What Is Sensory Sprinkles?
Sensory Sprinkles is an eight-session program that uses baking as a sensory experience rather than a task to master. Each session is designed to support regulation, autonomy, and exploration through simple, repetitive activities that meet students where they are.
Participation is always flexible. Students may observe, touch, smell, mix, decorate, or simply be present. All forms of engagement are valid, and success is defined by comfort and positive experience rather than completion.

Why Baking?
Baking naturally engages multiple senses and offers clear cause-and-effect experiences. The repetitive motions, familiar smells, and predictable routines can be regulating and grounding for many neurodivergent students.
In Sensory Sprinkles, baking is not a goal.
It is a sensory medium for connection, exploration, and confidence.
